NSF Awards Contract to Distributed Solutions

DSI to lead team of contractors in implementation and integration of new knowledge based acquisition system

RESTON, VA, (March 24, 2006) – Distributed Solutions, Inc. (Distributed) announced that the National Science Foundation (NSF) is the latest federal agency to recognize the value of knowledge based acquisition systems. NSF has awarded the company a software and services contract worth $1 million to implement the Automated Acquisition Management System (AAMS) as the foundation’s electronic procurement system.

The NSF selected Distributed and AAMS to replace its current procurement system, the Federal Procurement Desktop. Distributed will lead a team of contractors, including McLean, VA - based BearingPoint and Sterling, VA – based Digital Solutions, Inc. Initial project scope includes the acquisition and installation of necessary hardware/networking/operating infrastructure, the implementation of the AAMS product suite as configured for NSF business needs and the integration of AAMS with NSF’s core financial system.

“We are pleased to welcome the National Science Foundation to our family of customers and look forward to working with our partners BearingPoint and Digital Solutions in implementing a robust acquisition management solution,” stated Dan Carr, President and Founder of Distributed Solutions, Inc. “Distributed is the only company focusing beyond process to provide in depth expertise in managing the policy and compliance issues surrounding the construction of the binding agreements and methods that frame the federal acquisition process.” Mr. Carr added.  Distributed’s knowledge base approach allows agencies to standardize processes quickly, easily implement policy, and manage document content across their organization in a single unified system.
