Distributed Solutions Rolls out GSA e-Buy Portal

Reston, VA – January 3, 2008, Distributed Solutions Inc. (DSI) is pleased to announce the launch of our latest Automated Acquisition Management System (AAMS) feature set providing our customers with onboard portal access to the General Services Administration’s (GSA) e-Buy system.  This portal feature gives DSI customers the immediate ability to solicit, receive quotes from and award to any GSA schedule vendor using GSA’s e-Buy from within the AAMS system.  This integration allows agencies to make use of GSA’s e-Buy as a direct extension of their own local contract writing system.  It eliminates redundant entry of information into two separate automated procurement systems and simplifies agencies’ use of e-Buy while at the same time ensuring compliance with agency-specific financial, contractual and procedural policies.

DSI has successfully implemented this feature set in cooperation with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and GSA and will be bringing other major customers online over the next several months.  “DSI’s e-Buy portal exemplifies our commitment to partner with customers and to share the benefits of product enhancements across our customer base.  Our AAMS subscription product model reduces the total cost of ownership, increases investment return and extends technological and functional currency beyond a traditional product lifespan,” said Mike Rachal, DSI’s Executive Director of Account Management and Strategy.  Tony DeBiase, DSI’s Product Management Director added, “The development of this portal is an outstanding example of the cost savings achievable when the technical focus is kept on the use of standards and open system architecture instead of custom or parochial technologies.”
